LAN1/2 (Ethernet Ports)
Two Ethernet ports (designated LAN1
and LAN2) are located on the I/O
backplane. A dedicated IPMI LAN
port (above the USB0/1 ports) is also
provided. These ports accept RJ45
type cables.
Universal Serial Bus (USB)
There are two Universal Serial Bus
ports located on the I/O panel and
three additional USB headers located
on the serverboard. The headers can
be used to provide front side USB
access (cables not included). See the
table on the right for pin de nitions.

Unit Identi er Switch
A Unit Identi er (UID) switch and two
LED indicators are provided on the
serverboard. The UID Switch is lo-
cated next to the LAN ports on the I/O
backplane. The rear UID LED (LED26)
is located next to the UID switch. The
Front Panel UID LED is located on
pin 8 of JF1 (Control Panel header).
Connect a cable to pin 8 on JF1 for
the Front Panel UID LED. When you
press the UID switch, both the rear
and the Front Panel UID indicators
will be turned on. Press the UID switch
again to turn off both LED Indicators.
These UID Indicators provide easy
identi cation of a system unit that may
be in need of service.
Note: UID can also be triggered via
IPMI. For more information on IPMI,
please refer to the IPMI User's Guide
posted on our Website @ http://www.
supermicro.com.
